Members of Spelthorne Senior Citizens Group enjoyed something out of the ordinary when they joined forces
with Hurricanes Dragon Boat club for a tea party with a difference.
After a traditional dotting of the eye ceremony, where 94 year old Pat gave the Dragon’s head its red glowing eye, the tea party guests
were invited to take part in a thrilling training session with the Hurricanes Team.
The onlookers enjoyed delicious sandwiches and cakes while two ‘newbies’ at a time were put through their paces.
Captain Malcolm Orgill, who works as a driver for the group, said, “Last night was, for me, one of the most enjoyable evenings I have spent as part of the Hurricanes.
To see the smiles, laughter and genuine fun had by all involved was a great sight and one I will remember for a very long time.”
